We Are Atesto

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Atesto was birthed out of the desire to make Jesus known through the stories of His people. Over the past four years, our ministry has gathered in venues around the city, hearing stories of transformation through creativity and worship.

A year-and-a-half ago, we retreated to rest, pray and dream about what was next for our ministry. We wanted to come together as a body of Christ, held together by every joint with which it is equipped and make the body grow. So, it builds itself up in love. We spent the first half of the year wrestling with where we wanted our ministry to fit within the tapestry of God’s Kingdom.

After much prayer and consideration, some chose to leave our team to dive into their individual callings and home communities. Thus, we entered a season of transition. Our team spent the last year pressing into Jesus; fully trusting in Him and the vision He has for us as a team and ministry. We courageously stepped into the unknown, not losing heart and trusting in God’s breakthrough ahead.

In this time of pursuing God’s plans for Atesto — we learned to be fluid and open to what God intended for our ministry and not what we expected for our ministry. Atesto, after all, belongs to God, not to ourselves.

We are so excited to share with you all what God has been placing in our hearts this past year. Our team has been hard at work championing and leaning into the vision and mission we have for this new season at Atesto.

Thank you to our community who’ve been waiting patiently and praying for us through this season. What an incredible journey it has been and we’re only just getting started.

We are Atesto — a community of believers who exist to bear witness to the work of Jesus through the power of testimony.
